ORDER OF THE COMMISSION
No. 17
#80 -09 -C
The State Ethics Commission has received a complaint
regarding you and possible violations of the Ethics Act, Act
170 of 1978. The Commission has completed its review into
this allegation and finds that the Commission has no juris-
diction to review the question raised and this complaint must
be dismissed.
The individual allegation and finding upon which our
conclusion is based is:
Allegation: That you serve as elected
Township Supervisor for Tunkhannock
Township and as Republican Committeeman.
Findings: The Ethics Act does not
regulate the conduct of officials
within political parties. Thus, the
fact that you serve as Committeeman
and Township Supervisor is not
subject to regulation by the Ethics
Act. The Commission has no authority
to review possible violations of any
other statutes, such as the various
municipal or township codes.
All files in this case will remain confidential except
that, this Order will be available as a public document.
Sincerely,
yL .
