Smith Chairman 79 - 019 Dear Mr. Ferrari: In your letter of January 22, 1979, you requested the State Ethics Commission to furnish you an opinion pursuant to Section 7(9)(ii) of Act 170 of 1978 relative to your position as Elementary Principal in the New Hope - Solebury School District. You explained in your letter that you have been an elementary principal since your appointment in 1972. You also explained that your wife was employed as a teacher in the Cen- tennial School District in 1975 and following a furlough in 1976, was retained as a permanent substitute teacher for the Centennial 'District for the period of January 29, 1979 to June 12, 1979. It is the Commission's opinion that Act 170 does not prohibit the simultaneous employment of you and your wife by different school districts. As a "public employee" under Act 170, you are required to file a statement of financial interests pursuant to Section 4 of the Act. This letter is a public record and will be made available as
