ADVICE OF COMMISSION
Advice #80 -657
On December 3, 1979, you asked what your obligations
were under Act 170. You noted you were the Executive Director
of the Federal /State Relations Committee of the House of
Representatives and were planning to work with the Pennsylvania
,Rural Electric Association.
As Executive Director of the Committee you would be a
public employee as that term is used in Act 170.
You are restricted from representing any person before the
Federal /State Relations Committee for a period of one year after
you left that body. You can manage any contract awarded to your
private employer by that body and can seek information available
to the general public.
Pursuant to Section 7(9)(ii), this advice is a complete
defense in any enforcement proceeding initiated by the Commission,
and evidence of good faith conduct in any other civil or criminal
proceeding, providing the requestor has disclosed truthfully all
the material facts and committed the acts complained of in reliance '
on the advice given.
