Act 170 coverage of members of various boards,
commissions and committees.

On August 8, 1979, Mr. Kaleugher asked whetharning
persons appointed to the Zoning Hearing Board,
Commission, Recreation Committee, and Civil Service
Commission of the Township were covered by Act 170.
DISCUSSION:
The Commission has previously held in opinions
79 -029 (Sidari), 79 -030 (Collie), and 79 -033 (Weitzman)
that appointed uncompensated
redmembers of flvarious boards
and commissions are not
CONCLUSION:
Appointed non - compensated members of the Zoning
Hearing Board, Planning Commission, Recreation Committee
and Civil Service Commission of Collier Township are not
covered by Act 170.
Pursuant to Section 7(9)(ii), this advice is a
complete defense in any enforcement proceeding initiated
by the Commission, and evidence of good faith conduct in
any other civil or criminal proceeding, providing the
requester has disclosed truthfully
